Madden Champ Noah Johnson: Never Would’ve Thought I’d Be on ESPN Playing a Video Game

Noah Johnson is a 17-year-old senior who normally would be pitching for his high school baseball team this spring at DeMatha Catholic High in Maryland. Instead, he’s heading to the Madden Bowl, a two-week bracket-style elimination tournament featuring 16 of the top competitive Madden NFL 20 football players.    Johnson became the youngest person ever to win the Madden Challenge at the end of January. By winning that tournament at Electronic Arts’ studios in Redwood City, Calif. , he earned the $35,000 grand prize and entry into the top-tier Bowl tournament. The challenge was streamed online and later shown on ESPN2.
