LeagueApps president Jeremy Goldberg and Gators Baseball Academy partner Joe Lopez speak to SportBusiness’ US Editor Eric Fisher on the state of the $19bn American youth sports industry amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, one grappling with many of the same heavy impacts from the continued hiatus as the professional and major college ranks, but typically without the revenue support of long-term media and sponsorship contracts.
Both Goldberg and Lopez are also involved in a newly formed national-level coalition advocating for youth sports. That effort has since grown substantially in size and received a boost from a bipartisan group of Congressional leaders.
