World Lacrosse announce new date and name for postponed World Championship

World Lacrosse has re-named the 2020 Men's Under-19 World Championship to the 2021 World Lacrosse Men's Under-20 World Championship due to the postponement caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new name means that those athletes who would not be under the age limit in 2021 will also be able to compete next year when the tournament comes to Limerick in Ireland. It will now be scheduled for June 17 to 26, 2021, at the University of Limerick after the new date was announced by the World Lacrosse Board of Directors during its monthly call. In March, the Board made the decision to postpone the Championship which was originally scheduled for July 9 to 18 this year. Age eligibility will be raised one year, while the lower age will remain at 16-years-old. 🚨World Lacrosse Announces New Date and Name for World Championship to be held in Limerick, Ireland.
