The music agency Trevor Swenson launched in 2013, now known as Dynamic Talent International, had grown to represent 400 bands in five years, at which time he decided to expand into sports. In music, his firm relied on Tempo, a mature CRM designed for the specific needs of that industry. Swenson, 39, wanted something similar for his nascent sports division, so he asked around to friends in the business. “All of them told me the same thing, and I was just floored. They used spreadsheets,” Swenson says. “I said, ‘You guys bill like $15 billion a year, and you use spreadsheets to keep track of this stuff?’ ”
