Top Rank signs off BeIN Sports exclusive French boxing rights deal

Getty ImagesGlobal pay-TV operator BeIN Sports has secured exclusive French broadcast rights to 26 events hosted by boxing promoter Top Rank through to the end of June 2022. As boxing makes its US return behind closed doors, the contract begins on 9th June with Shakur Stevenson’s featherweight world title defence against Puerto Rico’s Felix Caraballo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  This is followed up with the super featherweight contest between US boxer Jessie Magdaleno and Dominican Republic’s Yenifel Vicente on 11th June, also in Las Vegas. Top Rank, whose fighter roster includes Tyson Fury and Vasiliy Lomachenko, has also committed to producing new events every Tuesday and Thursday throughout June and July. As part of the agreement, BeIN will also be able to offer Top Rank’s library of archived content, including classic fights featuring the likes of Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Floyd Mayweather Jr, and Manny Pacquiao. “It’s way more significant than 9/11”: How coronavirus is reshaping Top Rank’s strategyTop Rank founder Bob Arum said: “We are pleased to announce that our incredibly talented roster of fighters will be seen on BeIN Sports throughout France, which has a rich and storied boxing history.
