PGA Tour’s Twitter Multicast to feature celebrity commentary

Getty ImagesThe PGA Tour is working with social media platform Twitter on a new live content initiative that will see athletes, celebrities and personalities commentate on professional golf’s return to action on 11th June. The ‘Twitter Multicast’ will take place between 1pm and 2. 30pm (ET) on the opening day of the Charles Schwab Challenge, with guest contributors providing their own commentary on PGA Tour Live’s featured groups coverage. The initiative will offer nine versions of the live stream which will be distributed across more than 20 different Twitter accounts, including those of CBS Sports and NBC Sports in the US, Sky Sports in the UK and Discovery’s Golf TV. The video streams will cover pre-game, practice sessions, and the first two holes of competition of players such as Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth. Featured guest commentators include former National Football League (NFL) quarterback Danny Kanell, The Action Network’s Darren Rovell, American singer-songwriter Darius Rucker, retired golfer Annika Sorenstam, and NFL wide receiver Golden Tate, as well as YouTube trick shot specialists Dude Perfect.
