BT Sport secures Süper Lig rights to end of 2019/20 season

Getty ImagesUK pay-TV network BT Sport has signed a broadcast rights deal for Turkish soccer’s top-flight Süper Lig for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. The agreement covers three matches per fixture round and comes ahead of the league's resumption on 12th June. BT Sport COO: ‘Pay-TV not the right platform for esports long-term’BT Sport's coverage starts with Göztepe v Trabzonspor before completing its round of broadcast fixtures with Beşiktaş v Antalyaspor on 13th June and then Rizespor v Galatasaray on 14th June. There are eight weekends remaining from the current campaign, which was brought to a halt on 19th March amid sport’s widespread suspension due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Though financial details of the deal were not disclosed, the agreement is significant as it expands the Süper Lig's European distribution.  .
