According to Nielsen, the network’s viewership figures grew by roughly 160 per cent compared to coverage from the opening round of the same event in 2019. The Golf Channel's average first round viewership was 672,00 - the network’s most-watched opening-round PGA Tour telecast in its 14-year history. With the PGA Tour preparing to host more tournament over the coming months, commissioner Jay Monahan has also confirmed that no one involved in the the four-day Charles Schwab Challenge tested positive for coronavirus. The PGA Tour returns to full swing: ‘We need to look at everything we do and think differently’The event, which was held in Fort Worth, Texas, marked the end of an enforced three-month hiatus due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. “I've heard from some of my peers, and I think as I mentioned as we go forward, we will share everything that we've learned and how we're applying our protocols, and I would imagine some of those calls will happen over the next several days,” Monahan said.
